Visit Viñales, Cuba

If you associate Cuba only with the white sand Caribbean beaches, colorful colonial architecture and attractive vintage cars, then there is a big surprise waiting for you to discover in the town of Viñales.


Located two and a half hours drive west from the capital of Havana, in Pinar del Rio Province of Cuba, Viñales is a small town with a spectacular green landscape dominated by the mountain range of Sierra de los Òrganos.


A beautiful panorama of lush green fields filled with enormous tobacco and coffee plantations are revealed in front of you.


North of the town is the Viñales Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Viñales is an agricultural area, where crops of fruit, vegetables, coffee, and especially tobacco are grown. Fishing is also an important part of the area's economy.


Don't miss the opportunity to visit a local tobacco or coffee plantation where you will be shown how these products are grown and processed, and how the world-wide famous Cuban cigars are made and manufactured.


Tourism centered on the Viñales Valley is developing and hiking, climbing and cycling are quite popular as there is amazing green nature and views to discover.


Horse riding and horse trips are a highly recommended activity you can enjoy exploring the beauty of the Viñales valley.
